Ana, known as Poca Ana by the Homies, takes pride in her Navaho roots. She has long braids, and the name doesn’t bother her at all—it’s something she embraces. She feels proud of her Native American heritage, especially since they are the original people of the land, not immigrants.     Poca Ana is incredibly skilled in arts and crafts, and she’s learning traditional weaving techniques from her grandma, who lives with them. In addition to English and Spanish, she’s also working on learning the Navaho language, as her grandma emphasizes the importance of preserving their cultural language before it fades away.
