Lizard works at Wild Thangs Petshop downtown, where his life took an unexpected turn. He used to be deep into drugs, which left him a little... off. Let’s just say the lights are on, but not much is going on upstairs. He’s the kind of guy whose elevator doesn’t quite reach the top floor.     One day, Mrs. Wild Thang, the Black lady who owns the shop, found Lizard sleeping behind the dumpsters. As she got to know him, she discovered something extraordinary—Lizard has the ability to communicate with animals! It all started when he was chatting with a pair of rats, which Mrs. Wild Thang found both amazing and heartwarming. Feeling compassion for Lizard’s past struggles, she took him in, offering him a place to sleep in the backroom, and in return, he helps take care of the animals, feeding and cleaning their cages, and keeping them company.    His favorite companion is Iguanaloco, a massive pet iguana that chills on his shoulder. Lizard has become quite the local celebrity at nearby schools, where he’s often invited to showcase his pets and talk to the kids. While he’s there, he also shares his personal story of overcoming addiction, explaining how drugs left him living behind a dumpster at Wild Thangs, and how he found a second chance in his work with animals.
